# Overview

Bitcoin NFTs, which refer to the BTC ordinals project, in which individual sats (satoshis) are inscribed and tracked through the blockchain. More info can be found [here](https://docs.ordinals.com/).

### NFT metadata

BTC NFTs do not naturally come with metadata and collection metadata in the inscription. A typical inscription looks like this:

### Coverage

To obtain inscription metadata, we currently collate inscription metadata from multiple Ordinals explorers/Github repositories.

As projects voluntarily update the repositories with their collection metadata, the coverage of inscription data will be limited to the sources and repositories explored.
