# Overview

Casper Network is a proof-of-stake Layer 1 blockchain built on the Casper CBC consensus protocol. It supports WebAssembly (Wasm) smart contracts written in Rust, with native account abstraction, upgradable contracts, and predictable gas pricing for enterprise and Web3 use cases.
