This FAQ provides a guide into querying ERC404 tokens within Allium's data models.
Understanding ERC404 Token Identification
The ERC-404 token standard is an experimental protocol designed to facilitate the integration of fungible tokens and Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs), with the goal of enhancing liquidity and enabling fractional ownership.
In short, it behaves both like an ERC20 token and ERC721 tokens.
Contract Classification:
ERC404 tokens can be present in both chain.raw.erc20_tokens and chain.raw.erc_721_tokens
In short, the reason why this occurs is because our contract decoding pipeline recognises ERC404 as an ERC20 tokens, while our self-healing pipelines identifies it as an ERC721 token, as these tokens emit Transfer() events that resembles ERC721 tokens.
Transfers:
ERC404 token transfers can be found in chain.assets.erc721_token_transfers table if the contract deployer implements the ERC721 transfer event.

ERC404 token balances can be found in chain.assets.erc721_balances table if the contract deployer implements the ERC721 transfer event.

Q: Why do I see many contract addresses in both erc721_tokens and erc20_tokens tables, and not all of them are ERC404 tokens? A: Contract deployers can create tokens that fall under both ERC20 and ERC721 categories by implementing methods and transfer events from both standards. This results in some tokens appearing in both erc721_tokens and erc20_tokens tables even if they are not ERC404 tokens. In some instances, block explorers may also classify tokens as ERC20 or ERC721 based on the available methods, even if they later implement methods from both standards.
