New features and changes for the Assistant and Allium MCP. For data and schema changes, see the Changelog.

Assistant

Custom skills. Save any prompt as a skill and run it with / in the composer. You can also ask the Assistant to write the skill for you. See Custom skills.

Saving a prompt as a skill, then running it with /. The skills shown are examples.

Tag your work with @. Type @ in the composer and pick a dashboard or saved query. The Assistant reads it before it answers, so you don’t have to paste SQL or describe the chart.

Tagging a saved query and a dashboard with @, then asking whether they are connected.

  • Pick from the page. Click a card or chart on the page you’re on to attach it to your question.
  • Ask AI from charts and the query editor. The Assistant opens with that chart or query already attached.
  • Screenshot any tab. The camera button can capture any browser tab, not just the one you’re on.
  • Catalog metric charts. Ask for a metrics catalog metric and the chart shows up in the conversation.
  • Query run history. Ask what your recent queries cost, or how much the Assistant spent for you. Admins can ask about the whole organization.
  • Full dashboard editor. Anything you can do in the dashboard editor, the Assistant can do too.
  • Faster replies. Slow tool calls run in the background while the Assistant keeps going.
  • Dock and undock. Pop the Assistant out of the side pane into a floating window and back. The session title and history stay at the top.
  • Ask from Cmd+K. Type a question in Cmd+K and press Tab to send it to the Assistant.
  • Address lookups. If one address in a batch is malformed, you still get labels for the rest, plus a list of the ones that failed.

MCP

  • Query run history. list_query_runs lists your Explorer query runs and what each one cost in Explorer Units. Filter by date, by SQL text, or by source (source=assistant shows what the Assistant ran). Admins can pass org_wide to see everyone’s runs. It’s part of the explorer toolset. See SQL and queries.
  • Read shared dashboards. read_dashboard accepts a share_id from a public link, https://app.allium.so/s/dashboard/{share_id}. The Assistant uses the same tool, so you can paste a share link into a conversation. The link is read-only, and the tool returns the dashboard structure only. See Reading a share link.

Assistant

  • Metrics catalog. The Assistant checks Allium’s curated metrics, such as daily DEX volume by chain, before it writes SQL from raw tables. The answers are faster and match what Allium publishes.
  • Capture the current tab. Attach the page you are looking at as context for your question.
  • One session everywhere. A conversation continues when you move between the side pane and the full Assistant page.
  • Larger results. Queries return up to 250,000 rows.
  • No reply limit. Self-serve organizations no longer have a cap on Assistant replies.
  • Timestamps and a responsive layout. Each message shows when it was sent, and the Assistant fits phone, tablet, and desktop screens.

MCP

  • Toolsets. Add ?toolsets= to the server URL to load only the tools your agent needs. See Toolsets.
  • One URL for every client. Sign-in and Authorization: Bearer API keys both work on https://mcp.allium.so. mcp-oauth.allium.so stops working after 31 October 2026.
  • Query schedules. list_query_schedules, set_query_schedules, and delete_query_schedules manage schedules on saved Explorer queries.
  • Dashboard search. search_dashboards finds dashboards in your organization by name.
  • Metrics catalog. list_catalog_metrics and get_catalog_metric read Allium’s curated metrics, for organizations with access.
  • Realtime tools renamed. Every realtime tool now starts with get_realtime_, list_realtime_, or search_realtime_. The old names no longer work. See Realtime data.
  • Output schemas. Tools declare the shape of their results, so agents parse them reliably.
  • Claude Code plugin. Install Allium’s skills into Claude Code with one command. See Plugins.
  • Sign-in for coding agents. Connect Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, and others with your Allium account from the MCP page. An API key is created for you on first connect.

Assistant

  • File attachments. Attach PDF, Word, Excel, CSV, Markdown, and image files to a message.
  • Charts by default. The Assistant charts query results when a chart helps, and the chart renders inline in the conversation.
  • Retry. Run a reply again from the same point in the conversation.
  • Inline charts on shared sessions. People who open a shared session see the same charts you did.
  • New mode switcher. Switch between Auto and Manual mode from the composer, or press Shift+Tab.

MCP

  • Skills as resources. Allium’s skills are available as skill:// MCP resources as well as through get_skill.
  • Compute profiles. list_compute_profiles lists the profiles your agent can run SQL on.
  • Sign-in by default. npx @allium-labs/mcp install now uses sign-in. Pass --api-key to use a key.
  • Cursor plugin. The Allium plugin brings the same skills to Cursor.
  • ChatGPT Apps. Allium shows as an App in ChatGPT, with tool metadata for the Apps directory.
  • Terminal and docs tools for everyone. search_terminal, get_terminal_results, search_docs, and browse_docs no longer need a feature flag.

Assistant

  • Inline charts. Visuals render in the conversation, so you see the result without leaving the chat.
  • Session history. Search, rename, and delete past sessions.
  • Feedback. Rate any reply with thumbs up or thumbs down.
  • Execution units on tool calls. Each query step shows the EUs it used.
  • New landing page and composer. Start from example prompts for charts, SQL, dashboards, and apps.
  • Works behind VPNs. When a network blocks live streaming, the Assistant falls back to polling and keeps working.

Assistant

  • Terminal search. The Assistant checks Terminal for an analyst-built answer before it writes SQL.
  • Dashboard editing. The Assistant edits dashboards element by element, and dashboards support input controls such as dropdowns, switches, and date ranges.
  • Allium’s guidance. The Assistant loads Allium’s SQL, dashboard, and product guidance before it writes queries and builds dashboards.

MCP

  • Terminal search. search_terminal and get_terminal_results find analyst-built answers before your agent writes SQL.
  • Dashboard tools. read_dashboard, set_dashboard, and delete_dashboard read and edit dashboards element by element.
  • Visuals and sharing. create_explorer_visual, share_dashboard, and share_explorer_query replace the earlier chart and share tools.
  • Skills. get_skill loads Allium’s SQL, dashboard, and product guidance, with reference files for each skill.
  • Realtime tools. The realtime tools moved to the current Realtime APIs.

Assistant

  • Compute profile per session. Pick the compute profile that the Assistant uses to run queries.

MCP

Assistant

  • Auto mode. The Assistant runs tools without asking at each step. Switch back to Manual mode to approve each tool call.
  • Redesigned chat. A simpler layout for long, multi-step conversations.

MCP

  • Longer sessions. Signed-in MCP clients refresh their tokens, so you sign in less often.

Assistant

  • Share and fork sessions. Share a conversation by link. Viewers can fork it and continue from where you left off.
  • Tool permissions. Allow, Always Allow, or Deny each tool the Assistant wants to run.
  • Stop button. Stop a reply that is going in the wrong direction.
  • Inline tool calls. Each step shows in the conversation as it runs.
  • Session titles. Sessions get a title from their first question.

MCP

  • Asynchronous queries. run_sql_query returns a run ID, and get_query_run_results fetches the rows. Long queries no longer time out.
  • DeFi positions. Read a wallet’s DeFi positions through the realtime tools.
  • Multiple API keys. Create more than one API key per organization.

Assistant

  • PDF reports. Turn an analysis into a PDF with tables, charts, and text.
  • Share to X and LinkedIn. Get a pre-filled post with a summary and a link to your dashboard.
  • Web search. The Assistant searches the web for news and protocol context.
  • Organization memory. The Assistant remembers addresses, preferences, and conventions for your whole organization. See Organization memory.
  • Questions back to you. When a request is ambiguous, the Assistant asks a short question before it starts.
  • Images. Paste a screenshot into your message.
  • Beam pipelines and web apps. Build Beam pipelines, for organizations with Custom Transforms, and ship Vercel apps from a conversation.

MCP

  • Installer. npx @allium-labs/mcp install configures Claude Code, Cursor, and other clients in one command.
  • Realtime tools. Prices, balances, transactions, and holdings PnL as MCP tools.
  • Sign in with your Allium account. Use the same login as the Allium App.
