Litecoin UTXO
Litecoin UTXO, short for Unspent Transaction Output, represents a specific amount of LTC that has been sent to a recipient and not yet spent.
When a new transaction occurs, it references and consumes specific UTXOs as inputs and creates new UTXOs as outputs.
Litecoin Features
The satoshi is the smallest denomination of LTC, with 100 million satoshis in each LTC.
Litecoin is a fork of Bitcoin that was created as a faster, more efficient alternative to Bitcoin. It uses the same UTXO model as Bitcoin but with some key differences:
- Faster block time (2.5 minutes vs Bitcoin’s 10 minutes)
- Uses Scrypt as its proof-of-work algorithm instead of SHA-256
- Higher total supply cap (84 million LTC vs 21 million BTC)
- Lower transaction fees
- More efficient mining process
